Mr. Kiefer is the founder and managing director of SKA. SKA is a portfolio management firm specializing in value oriented investment portfolios. SKA has consistently been cited in Nelson's World Best Money Managers as one of the Top 20 best performing managers. Kip is from Saratoga, California where he attended local schools before accepting an athletic scholarship to the University of Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Sciences in finance from USC in 1981. Mr. Kiefer competed worldwide and qualified for the 1980 Olympic Team. Upon graduation Kip entered a Case Officer training program with the Central Intelligence Agency and was deployed to the US Embassy in 1983. He received a Service Action Commendation in April 1983. Before founding SKA in 1991, Mr. Kiefer worked as a commercial banker for First Interstate Bank, where he expanded his financial analysis skills. Stan left the bank in 1990 to devote full time to portfolio management. Mr. Kiefer is also the creator of a risk measurement tool called the Kiefer Risk Index (KRI).
